How to Remove Hard Water Stains from Glass

Mix Water And Vinegar or Citric Acid

The primary cleaning elements for the hard water stains on the glass are the vinegar and the water solution.

Mix equal parts of vinegar with water in a spray bottle. Mix them well to ensure that you can remove all the hard stains from the glass.

If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, you can use citric acid instead. It is excellent at dissolving calcium stains, and hard water deposits. Best of all, it is odorless. And like vinegar, it is a cheap way to clean.

To use citric acid to clean hard water stains from glass, dissolve 1 tablespoon of citric acid in a bottle of water. You can use it as a soak or spray.

Tip: Even heavily stained items can be left to soak overnight, and then easily rinsed away the next day. There’s no scrubbing needed. For example, I’ve used the soaking method to remove hard to remove and multilayer calcium stains in rabbit litter boxes and kids potties. I rub a small old toothbrush on any leftover parts. You can also use a paper towel because it just needs a gentle wipe.

Spray The Solution

After you have made the solution out of the two elements, now you need to spray that solution to the glass, which has hard water stains on it.

Cover the whole stained area with the solution. This will make sure that you can remove all the stains from the glass.

Wipe with Damp Sponge

Next, you need to wipe the glass using a damp sponge. You can dampen the sponge in the vinegar and water solution.

Let The Solution Rest

Once you are done with sponging the whole glass, now you need to let it rest for around 5 minutes.

It is essential to ensure that all the stains have been removed from the glass.

Because hard and old stains are difficult to remove. So, let the solution rest on the glass.

Rinse with Warm Water

After letting the solution rest for a while, now you need to rinse the glass with warm water.

You can use the sponge in a circular motion while washing the glass with warm water. This will help to remove the stains properly.

Dry with Micro Fiber Cloth

Lastly, dry off the glass using a microfiber cloth to remove all the stains away.

Use this method to remove the hard water stains from the glass easily and make the house shine like a new one.
