How to Remove Gel Polish
The very first thing you will need to do is to sand your gel polish with a nail file. Don’t give too much pressure while you do it.
The purpose of sanding your gel polish before removing it is to make the surface rough which will make the removing process easier.
Before applying acetone to remove your nail polish, cover the surrounding area of your nails with petroleum jelly.
The purpose of using petroleum jelly for your nail is to keep the moisture of your fingers intact. Otherwise, acetone might make your skin dry.
You can also use lotion or cream as an alternative.
Now take a few cotton balls and start removing your gel polish one by one. Dip one cotton ball in the acetone and put it on your fingertips.
A lot of people prefer to dip fingernails directly in the acetone. Well, it is up to your comfort and convenience.
Acetone can dry up quickly, so it is better to use a cotton ball.
After you are done placing the wet cotton ball in your fingertips, wrap your fingernails with aluminum foil.
Aluminum foil will help to intact the acetone in your fingernail properly, and it will be in the right place. Keep your nails like this for around 15 to 20 minutes.
After that, remove the aluminum foil from your fingers, and you will see that most of the gel polish is coming off.
If there is any remaining gel polish stuck in your nails, grab a thin wooden stick and scrape carefully.
To get back the moisture of your fingers, dip your fingers in coconut oil for around 5 minutes. It will help to get the moisture back.
