During craft projects, it is quite common to get paint in clothes.
It is not always possible to wash off the paint right away, which results in dried paint stains in your cloth.
Luckily, you can remove dried paint from your clothes with just a few steps.
How to Remove Dried Paint from Clothes
The first thing you will need to do is to scrape off the loose paint from your cloth.
Although the paint has dried, you can use a dull knife to scrape it. Hold the knife in an angle and start scraping off the paint.
For the second step, you will need warm water and a rag. Wet the rag with warm water and squeeze off the excess water.
Now blot the stained area so that most of the paint comes off. Using warm water will make it easier to absorb more paint.
Get some detergent and mix it with warm water. Then, using another rag blot, the piece of cloth so that the remaining paint comes off.
Take the rag and dip it in the warm water again to rinse it. Repeat the process unless most of the paint comes off.
If the piece of cloth is of light color, and you have spilled dark-colored paint, you will probably need to use a few more cleaning products.
You can use stain removers as well. These stain removers work pretty well for water-based paint stain.
As dried paint is harder to remove, you can also use a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the stained area.
If you don’t have to rub alcohol, try using acetone. Such products will work better for oil-based painting.
Throw the piece of cloth in your washing machine like you normally do and let it dry. You will see that there is no trace of paint on your cloth.
