Now that you know how to remove acrylic nails using acetone let’s look at some other ways to remove acrylic nails. A lot of girls are looking for a more natural way to remove acrylic nails. After all, you cannot use acetone too often, which might cause some issues in your nails.

If you don’t feel comfortable using acetone to remove acrylic nails, you can use the method mentioned below as well.

Step 1

You can remove acrylic nails using hot water as well. It is one of those methods which is the most straightforward. Also, if you are thinking about safety, it is the safest method indeed. Get a heatproof bowl to pour hot water. You will also need a nail clipper and an orange stick.

Step 2

Then, you will need to trim your nails. You might be able to trim the upper part of your nail easily.  Trim as much as possible. Use the nail clipper to trim your nails. Feel free to cut in any angle you want to.

Step 3

Now it is time to pour the hot water into the bowl. You will need to soak your acrylic nails for around 30 to 40 minutes. It might seem like a long period of time. Get yourself comfortable. For example, watch a movie while the nail becomes softer.

To shorten the soaking time, you can use the help of a nail steamer. You will be done in 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 4

After you are done soaking the nails in the water, it should be quite easy to remove the acrylic nails. If the acrylic nails don’t come off naturally, you can use dental floss to remove the acrylic nails. It is mostly applicable for acrylic nails that have been there for a long time and are quite hard to get rid of.

Step 5

For this process, you will need a few things. Gather a dental floss stick & some oil. You can also use lotion instead of oil. The main focus here will be to pry the floss under the acrylic nail and run it all the way under the nail so that it comes from your natural nail.

Step 6

The process is not that difficult as it sounds. Get a floss and slowly pry it under your nail. If you cannot do the work alone, I will suggest you get help from a friend or a family member. Obviously, it can be quite hard to pull the floss with one hand only.

Step 7

Gently run the floss until the end of the nail. The nail should come off easily. If there is any part of the acrylic nail left, you can use a file to remove it. Then, apply oil to your nails to moisturize it.

These are a few ways how you can remove acrylic nails at home. Use any of these methods that are more convenient for you.
