Getting rid of fleas is not an easy job. You will need to know how save yourself, your pet, and your house from fleas.
These annoying buggers can take over your house swiftly. You will have to be diligent in spotting them and getting rid of them.
You don’t need to call the flea control for the chemicals and hassle. Read on for remedies to get rid of them.
How to Get Rid of Fleas in House
Step 1
If you’ve got a pet, like a dog, cat, or rabbit, that means your pet has fleas.
Head over to the vet to get a medication called Revolution.
Revolution is applied on your pet’s skin.
Then, over the next 30 days, your pet will shed the medication wherever they go in the house.
That helps kill fleas around the house.
You will also want to get rid of the source of the fleas so they can stop multiplying. Get a flea comb for your pet and a bucket of water with a bit of dish soap.

Comb through your pet and dip any fleas into the bucket of water.
Another reason to go to the vet is that fleas don’t tend to infest an animal who is healthy. Have your vet checkup on your animal friend’s overall health.
Step 2
The rule of keeping fleas away from your house is to vacuum your house. Fleas don’t survive through the force of the vacuum.
For frequent vacuuming, use a cordless vacuum like the Dyson Animal Cordless Vacuum.
Having a cordless vacuum with good suction and battery has been a game-changer in my house. I don’t get the deep feeling of dread when I need to do a quick vacuum.
Thorough vacuuming is now super quick and easy. As a side-effect, asking the husband to vacuum has suddenly been a quick favor as opposed to a chore.
If you have fleas in your house, you will need to vacuum your entire house as the first step.
Vacuum under the rugs and the corners of your house well where fleas can hide.
Step 3
The next step is to use baking soda. Fill a jar with baking soda and sprinkle it over your rugs and furniture.
While rubbing the brush against the carpet and furniture, make sure you don’t damage the materials.
After sprinkling with baking soda, it is time to use the vacuum cleaner again.
Vacuum thoroughly so that there is no baking soda left in the house.
Step 4
After vacuuming the house, take out the container and place it in a plastic bag. Wrap the bag and place it in the trash can outside your house.
Vacuuming regularly is one of the most effective methods of getting rid of fleas in the house.
Step 5
If you’ve got a house full of carpet, use a carpet cleaner, or rent a steam cleaner.
For hard floors and hardwood, damp mop with a bit of dish soap. This will drown the remaining fleas.
Make sure your soap is not toxic to pets or kids. You can use pure castile soap like this one from Amazon.
Step 6
You will have to vacuum and mop daily until you’ve got the flea problem under control.
It’s pretty obvious when you do. You stop seeing the buggers jump and you stop getting flea bites. Your pet also looks relieved.
Do remember to treat your pet with Revolution according to your vet’s instructions, or a similar medication, so that the fleas can stop reproducing.
Takeaway
With these methods and being diligent to stop the flea producing cycle, I wish you success in being rid of them fleas!
Your video was helpful. We currently have a flea infestation in the house. The cat has had a flea treatment from the vet and the house was professionally sprayed. It’s been almost two weeks and still having a major problem. So, kitty will get a bath. Spray neem oil on the mattresses and vacuum more ! You stressed , STAY CALM. Very hard to do, lol. Not feeling like it’s getting under control. We are getting bitten and frustrated. I’m not really sure what I’m expecting you to say any differently than you mentioned in your video. I guess it just feels good to talk about it with you.
