1. Use your dishwasher to clean the baby toys

If you are planning to clean and disinfect the baby toys with dishwasher, you will need to make sure that they are dishwasher free at first.

There are many toys which you will be able to clean in the dishwasher. See the manufacturer’s guide if you are confused.

Toys like blocks, shapes, plastic toys, bath toys, are perfectly fine to clean with dishwasher. Place the toys in a dish that will make sure that the toys do not fall.

Add your regular detergent you use to clean your dishes. Also, remember not to wash any toys will battery in the dishwasher.

2. Take advantage of the UV rays from the sun

Sunlight is the ultimate solution to kill any kind of germ and bacteria. Before cleaning the toys, place them in the open sun for a few hours.

Use your backyard or balcony to keep the toys. The UV ray will be enough to kill all the germ and disinfect the baby toys.

After that, you can go through the regular cleaning process.

There are a few sensitive toys that might not be possible to clean in a washing machine or dishwasher, use sunlight to disinfect them.

3. Boil the toys that your baby continuously puts into the mouth

You can also try boiling your baby’s toys if you want to disinfect the toys.

Also, you cannot boil every toy your baby owns. You will need to make sure that the toy can be boiled without being damaged.

Take a particular piece of toys and see if there is anything written related to boiling. If it allows, then you can boil the toys.

Also, the toys that your kid continuously puts in their mouth need to be disinfected. Take a large pan and fill it with water.

After boiling, take a tong to carefully bring them out.

You can use this method to disinfect the pacifiers, silicone toys, and toys made of hard plastic.

4. Make a DIY sanitizer and disinfectant

You can make your own sanitizer and disinfectant to clean the baby toys.

If you do not want to use any harsh chemicals to clean your baby toys, it is the ultimate solution for you.

To make this natural sanitizer and disinfectant, you will need white vinegar and essential oil. Take one cup of white vinegar and mix it in one cup of water.

Spray on the baby toys and clean the toys with a piece of cloth. That is how you easily sanitize your baby toys.

I particularly find this method very effective and safe, as I don’t need to use any harsh chemicals.

5. Use soap and bleach to disinfect with care

You can also try using soap and bleach to clean the baby’s toys. But you should be very careful during the process.

At first, clean the toys with soapy water. Make sure to remove soap residue and clean properly. Then, take a large bowl and fill it with cold water.

Then add one tablespoon of bleach in the cold water. Make sure not to use more than one tablespoon of bleach in a gallon of water.

Now, it is time for the toys to get soaked. Wait for around 15 minutes. Now, remove the toys one by one.

There is no need to wipe the toys. Simply let them air dry. Don’t let your kid come near while you clean the toys.

Because bleach is a strong cleaning component that can be harmful while exposing to kids, it is one of those methods I only use to deep clean the toys.

6. Disinfect the wooden toys with vinegar

You cannot use soap and water to clean the wooden toys, that would definitely be a stupid thing to do.

You will need to make a mixture of vinegar and water. Use one cup of water and one cup of vinegar. Place the mixture in a spray bottle.

7. Place the stuffed animals and plush toys in a pillowcase before cleaning

The process of disinfecting stuffed animals and plush toys is a bit different from the others.

If you are planning to throw away the stuffed animals and plush toys in the washer, it might not be a good idea.

What you can do is place the toys in a pillowcase before washing. The pillowcase will help the stuffed animals and plush toys to be washed gently.

You can simply rinse them in the washing machine. Make sure to give a look at the instruction before placing them in the machine.

It should be okay to clean the stuffed animals and plush toys once a week.
