How to Clean Makeup Brushes

Step 1

Use baby shampoo and warm water to clean your brushes.

Keep the handle of the brush away from warm water so that the warm water doesn’t affect the material.

Before using the baby shampoo, you will need to soak the brush in warm water.

Step 2

Make sure that you are using lukewarm water; otherwise, you will damage the bristle using too hot water.

Also, hold the brush upside down so that the water can run smoothly on the brushes. Clean one brush at a time.

Step 3

Take a small bowl and fill half of it with lukewarm water and a few drops of baby shampoo. 1 tablespoon of baby shampoo will be good to go.

Step 4

Now, take one of your dirty makeup brushes and dip it in the mixture and swirl gently.

If you are cleaning your foundation brush, you will need to massage it with your fingers as well.

Because foundation brushes usually attract more makeup than other brushes. So, these brushes need to be cleaned at least once a week.

Step 5

In case of other makeup brushes, simply swirl the brush in the mixture and let them dry after the cleaning process.
