Step 1
Before applying baking soda, you will need to use a vacuum cleaner in order to get rid of the excess dirt stuck in the carpet.
If your carpet covers your entire apartment, it is better to start with one room or part at a time depending on the size of the carpet.

The second step is to sprinkle baking soda on your carpet. You will need a big amount of baking soda so that it covers each section of your carpet.
You can sprinkle the baking soda directly from the packaging.

Alternatively, use a container or glass to sprinkle evenly on the carpet. Make sure that every section of your carpet is covered with baking soda.

Now you will need a sponge to scrub the carpet well.
If your carpet has been uncleaned for a long time, you can use a scrub brush with a soft bristle that will work better.
Scrub properly so that the baking soda reaches the underneath of your carpet.
